Emmanuel Christian Center began in 1980 as Emmanuel Foursquare Gospel Church under Pastor Loren Houltberg, a Salina native and graduate of L.I.F.E. Bible College in Los Angeles, CA. Pastor Houltberg felt God calling him to form a new congregation in his hometown under the Foursquare Banner and began holding church meetings in a small building on South 11th Street and by 1981, had grown into meeting at the Carver Center. From there, the church began meeting at the Friendship Center and then used a meeting room at Cavalier Court before settling into a more permanent location on Duvall Street. In 1991, the congregation moved into a newly built church on Cloud Street and continues to worship together in that building today.

Family: We want to bring you to healthy family relationships both at home and in the church among all ages from youngest to the oldest.
The Foursquare Gospel: We believe Christ is the Savior, the One who heals the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of our lives, the Baptizer in the Holy Spirit, and the soon coming King.
Discipleship: Our goal for each believer is to help them mature spiritually, to help them find their gifts, serve and be able to disciple others.
